If you enrolled in the Certification Program anytime between 2022 and 2024, you are paying by workshop and will pay $150 to register.
If you enrolled in the Certification Program in 2025, you are paying in annual installments, or you have already paid for the entire program and will pay $0 to register.
Failure to choose the correct payment option will result in multiple transactions, and VAEE will charge the transaction fee for any erroneous registrations.
The Criteria 5 Virginia Environmental Literacy course is open to enrolled EE Certification Candidates who have completed the following prerequisites:
Criteria 1 assignments
Attended Criteria 2.1 "Professional Development of Environmental Educators" workshop
Attended Criteria 2.2 "Methods of Teaching Environmental Education" workshop*
This robust course touches on topics in physical and living systems, how our cultural history intertwines with our natural history, and the juxtaposition of environment and society--all with a focus on Virginia.

Online class meetings, 6:00- 8:00 pm
Monday, September 29
Monday, October 27
Thursday, November 20
All other work completed asynchronously in Canvas with weekly deadlines.
Course participants can expect to spend about 3-4 hours/week on assignments (not including class meetings).
