About the Event

This year's theme Virginia is for Environmental Education seeks to showcase the diverse and exciting EE experiences and incredible educators from across Virginia. We would love to have you join us and share your work and passion!

The deadline for conference proposals was October 15, 2023. Proposals should align with one of the following conference tracks:

  • Leadership in EE (working on grants, professional development, how to improve your EE skills, etc.)

  • Collaboration (great partnerships with agencies, communities, civic groups, etc.)

  • Effective EE (lessons learned, meaningful learner experiences, etc.)

  • Reaching Diverse Audiences (program differentiation, reaching out to communities, etc.)

Guranteed full sized tables for sharing and vending are available on a first come first serve basis for $100. There are limited spaces available. Vending will occur in a three hour window during breakout sessions. In the event that all tables are not purchased, we will offer half tables for no cost.

Conference Equity Fund

It is our goal to move toward ensuring those that want to attend the conference are able to even if they may be under resourced at the time. VAEE is launching our first conference equity fund. We believe that all educators and supporters of EE that desire to attend the conference should be able to, even if they may be underresourced at the time. Essentially, it is our goal to ensure that the conference is accessible. While some attendees may be able to cover the costs through their employer, this is not the case for all. VAEE desires to be mindful of the time, expense, and true costs that it takes to attend convenings. This year we are launching a conference equity fund. Expenses that we will be looking to modestly support could include transportation; lodging; childcare funds to secure your childcare if needed. To apply for funds click here
