Field Trip - Maymont Tour
Saturday, February 28th 2:30 - 4:30 PM
Maymont, 2201 Shields Lake Drive, Richmond, VA 23220
Led by: Rachel Riesbeck, Manager of Education, Maymont
Maymont is a 100-acre green space in the heart of Richmond, Virginia where guests gather to connect with history, nature, wildlife, and each other. We welcome everyone to explore our spectacular Gilded Age estate, beautiful curated gardens, immersive nature center, interactive farm, and rescued animal habitats—and to find moments of wonder while you wander our rolling hills. Our education team will guide you through the “Run of the River” exhibit in the Robins Nature Center and introduce you to a variety of species that inhabit our watershed. We will go behind the scenes to meet some of our animals up close and discover how Maymont keepers provide unique habitats. Learn about ways we engage our community in conservation that bring wildlife and people together.
Please dress for the weather. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. You’ll have access to the Maymont grounds to explore after the guided portion until closing at 5:00 p.m.
Please note: this Field Trip is Free for VAEE Conference attendees; however, there are a limited number of spots for each field trip. Don’t wait until it’s too late!
