Join the James River Association (JRA) on a field trip to their new flagship environmental education building, the James A. Buzzard River Education Center. Space is limited to 20 participants, so sign up soon.
Weather permitting, participants will launch canoes from Chapel Island and explore the shoreline of the James River. In case of weather restrictions, participants can explore the James from two city parks adjacent to the building. Inside, participants will explore JRA's educational programs and tour the green infrastructure around the Buzzard Center. JRA will provide quick activities to help participants use JRA's online resources to teach about the James River's ecosystems!
Bring warm, layered clothing, close-toed shoes, a water bottle, and a snack. Upon arrival, park either in the bus loop in front of the building or next door at Great Shiplock Park.
Restrooms are available on site.
Please note: This Field Trip is Free for VAEE Conference attendees; however, there are a limited number of spots for each field trip. Don’t wait until it’s too late!
